These guidelines aim to promote the integrity, transparency, and reliability of scientific research, ensure that it is conducted ethically and with appropriate rigor, and prevent any misconduct or ethical violations. The Global Journal of Biotechnology and Biological Research require all authors to adhere to the ethical standards as prescribed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Authorship
Authors should only be listed on a manuscript if they have made a significant contribution to the research and the writing of the manuscript. All authors should agree to the final version of the manuscript and its submission for publication.
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of someone else's work without proper attribution. The journal considers plagiarism a serious offense. Submitted manuscripts should be the original works of the author(s). Our journal will act in accordance with COPE guidelines in suspected cases of plagiarism.
Double Submission
It is unethical to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Doing this wastes the time of editors and peer reviewers, and can damage the reputation of journals if published in more than one.
Data fabrication and falsification
Fabrication, manipulation or falsification of data is a violation of this publication ethics. Our journal shall implement the COPE guidelines in suspected cases of fabrication and falsification of data.
Manipulating Citations
Authors should use only citations that are relevant to their manuscripts. Addition of references which are not relevant to the work is strongly discouraged. Similarly, irrelevant self-citation to increase one’s citation is unethical.
